Frequently Asked Questions
Convert both fractions to a common denominator (multiplying the two denominators together always works), then add the numerators and keep the common denominator. This calculator does that automatically and simplifies the result.
Divide the numerator and denominator by their greatest common factor (GCF) until the fraction can't be reduced any further. For example, 6/8 divided by a GCF of 2 becomes 3/4.
